Terms of Service

Haunt My Doorbell takes a video clip you send us, adds a Halloween monster to it, and sends it back. Using the site or placing an order means you agree to what's below.

What you're promising us about your footage

When you upload a clip, you're telling us all of the following is true:

• The footage came from a camera you own or control, at a property you live at or have permission to record.
• You have the right to send it to us and to let us edit it.
• There are no identifiable people in it — no faces, no delivery drivers, no neighbors, no children.
• It isn't footage of a crime, an accident, an emergency, or anything that's part of a legal matter.

If a clip arrives that doesn't meet these, we'll ask you for a different one. If we think it was sent to us in bad faith, we'll cancel and refund the order and keep nothing.

What we won't make

We make monsters. We don't make:

• Any real, identifiable person — including public figures, your ex, or your neighbor.
• Anything designed to look like a real crime: a break-in, a theft, a person being hurt, a weapon being used.
• Anything sexual, hateful, or targeting a specific person or group.
• Footage intended to be passed off as genuine to police, insurers, courts, employers, journalists, or a neighborhood watch.

We turn down orders that head in these directions and refund them in full. This isn't negotiable, and asking nicely won't change it.

What you're agreeing not to do with the video

The videos we make are fiction. They are obviously, deliberately fake, and they exist to make somebody laugh. You agree that you will not:

• Submit one to any police department, emergency service, insurance claim, or court proceeding.
• Present it to a news outlet, or post it publicly claiming it's genuine security footage.
• Use it to frighten, harass, or intimidate a specific person, or to make anyone believe they're in real danger.
• Use it to make someone believe a real crime occurred at a real address.

Show it to your family, your group chat, and your friends. Tell them the same night. That's the whole idea.

Delivery, revisions, and refunds

• We deliver within 24 hours of receiving your clip — not of your payment. The Full Haunt tier is 12 hours.
• If you don't like the result, tell us within 48 hours and we'll redo it once at no charge.
• If the second attempt misses too, we refund you in full and you keep both videos.
• If we can't make anything good from your clip — too dark, too short, too shaky — we'll tell you and refund you rather than send you something weak.
• If we're going to miss a deadline, we'll email you before it passes, not after.

Who owns what

Your original footage stays yours; sending it to us doesn't change that. The finished video is yours too — do what you like with it, within the limits above. We keep the right to refuse or cancel any order.

We will never use your footage or your finished video to advertise this service unless you tell us we can, in writing, for that specific video. The examples on this site are made on footage we shot or generated ourselves.

Trademarks

Ring is a trademark of Amazon. Nest is a trademark of Google. Blink, Wyze, Arlo, and Eufy belong to their respective owners. We aren't affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of them. We mention them only to tell you whose video files we can accept.

The legal floor

The service is provided as-is. We're a small novelty-video operation, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for that order. We're not liable for how you choose to use a video after we deliver it — that part is on you, and the rules above are the deal.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when we last did.
